This past friday I attended the eclectically beautiful art exhibition, " Secret Hippies " at Fabric 8, dreamed and created by
Reuben Rude and Bill Zindel, local SF native artists.
Reuben Rude was born in San Francisco to two Hippies who met in the Summer Of Love and then studied at the Academy of Art for Illusration.
Bill Zindel is a illustrator, graphic designer who works in the Bay Area. He studied at the Rhode Island School of Design.
Together they collaborated and made a monster mash mix up of breath taking pieces that scream nostaligia, sacasm and all around madness. The pieces ranged from collages to print work.
But the art installations werent the only this that was something to talk about, the people who were there. Girls dressed in the ever so popular "Hipster" trends with hints of 1960's and 70's aspects. Denim Levi cut-offs, maxi skirts, skinny jeans, Bell Bottom jeans and platform wedges and Doc Martins.
And the guys were dapper in flannels, cord skinny jeans, hoodies and ray bans with van, converse and boating shoes.
The exhibit started November 24th and runs until the 6th of this month! so check it out!

Bon Iver, Isaac Gale and David Jensen hit the open road and make us all feel like Dennis Hopper in "Easy Rider," in this sun kissed new video for the song " Hinnom, TX."
It's one part in Bon Iver's Deluxe video series, that all consist of reaction breaking images tht flow right in with the music.
Buddy Holly, a.k.a the wild kid in the dapper suits and famous black retro ray-ban glasses, sadly left us at only 22, but we celebrate his 75th birthday anniversary every year on September 7th and this year, Robert Smith produced a tribute Album in Buddy's honor jammed packed with huge names to give props to Mr. Holly.
"Rave on Buddy Holly,"is the title of this musical collaboration of Buddy's famous hits that rocked the charts in 1957 before his death in 1959.
The prestigious artist line-up ranges from each end of the music spectrum with Paul McCartney, She and Him, My Morning Jacket, Patti Smith and Cee Lo Green to name a few.
This album definitely does the job in recognizing all the talent great music Buddy created at only 22, and not to mention that it's kind of fun to see these different artists take the reins and put their own spin on the Holly classics.
